Special care should be used to keep coins in their original condition. Small changes in the condition of the coins by mishandling will cause a large decrease in value. Special care has been taken to assure that the coins are packaged in the most appropriate type of container. Do not store coins in any type of paper. It may cause discoloration or spotting. Avoid touching the face of coin. Hold only by the rim.
NEVER clean, dip, polish or buff coin, not even with a soft towel or felt. This will greatly reduce its value and grade. For handling copper and silver coins, gloves should be worn.
GLMC highly recommends you keep the coins in their original holders to permit easy identification and to prevent mishandling. Storing coins in other than their holder will void the guarantee.
Call GLMC if you have specific questions on a special storage need or question.

Before sealing the pipe, use a porous cloth as a bag for the silica in order for it to absorb any moisture. Make sure to place the bag inside the PVC pipe while in storage. Obviously, it is not suggested to completely fill the pipe. Also, do not store all metal holdings in one place. It is recommended that the PVC be buried approximately 5' to 6' deep. Bury the iron pipe one and a half feet above the PVC. Make sure all your metals are individually wrapped or kept from being loose and scraping one another in the process. Always remember the location of the pipe for later retrieval.
The most important element of security is secrecy. Be wise and very careful with whom you share information about your holdings.
